Laid back fun environment

Great place to work, management was laid back to allow work life balance. Took appropriate covid measures. No benefits offered. Compensation could be better but could be worse.

Pros

Healthy fun work environment

Meh

It was a job and that's about it to it. no real benefit and pay is what would expect from a job in this field which is to say not great. Overall a good learning experience

Great place to get some experience and then move onto something better.

This is a decent job if you have no experience with electronics. They will teach you how to fix many things such as phones, consoles, tablets etc. The only real issue with this place is the pay it is really low for what you're doing / expected. I would say its a great start for someone to just get some experience and move on.

Cons

Low pay, overworked for your pay. Management can be annoying sometimes

Great starter job

Don't expect too much in growth in the company. Pay is relatively low as well for how much you're expected to do. It's a great starter job, but wouldn't look for long term career here.

It's All About The Franchise Owners

Other franchise locations may be different but mine was a disaster. No accountability with the owners. They didn't pay OT till they got caught not playing OT.

Cons

Lack of communication, no benefits , no support from ownership.

Bad pay, bad hours and no room for advancement

Bad pay, bad hours and no room for advancement wish I never worked here. I was told I would get a raise quickly.due to experience but my "significant raise" was 25 cents. I demanded more and then left.

Great place if you are motivated by environment

Work-life balance Manageable Pay & benefits Pay isn't huge in comparison to other companies but the team, the management, and everyone here makes it an amazing place to work at. Job security and advancement Training and new opportunities are always available Management Management is franchised and I hit jackpot Culture Everyone respects each other and helps others. Overall Amazing team, and a great place to work at. I enjoy the work and I am happy to be here. Management cares and the clients are difficult but everyone here really sticks up for you.

CPR Cell Phone Repair

I really enjoyed my time, co-workers as well as compensation for this employer! 5/5 Stars from myself! If anyone were to be looking for a job and they were even help I would definitely send them that way.

Pros

Great company to work for.

Cons

It can get busy at many times so get your shoelaces knotted twice!

The best job i ever had.

I worked at the locations of Minnetonka, MN and Plymouth, MN. The owner of these 2 stores (and another minneapolis location) Is an absolute beast. I will compare all managers from here on out to him. He stated they were a caring and family company, he was right. He said i had a lot of opportunities to grow in the company and make more money, he was right, i got my first $1. 50 raise in the first 3 months of working there. This company needs to expand more and show those corporate pig dogs at Ubreakifix how to run a company. If you have a CPR Cell Phone Repair in your state, consider yourself blessed.

An absolute joke to work for

Pay is awful but you get to work on various devices so if you like fixing things it's not terrible if you're just starting out. As I had experience I was paid higher than someone just starting out but even then it was a far cry from what I was making from before. I signed on because I was sold on the Brooklyn Bridge as it were. Manager of the new location that they were working on. 6 months later I'm manager of the older store that just let their manager go because they dared to ask for a raise. There is next to no training, Mr. YouTube is how I learned to fix the newer stuff and I have to say that is NOT how you want to learn how to fix something when you're holding a customer's $1000.00 iPhone in your hand. There are NO benefits, they'll slash your hours with no warning and before I left they started hiring 18-19 year old kids to work for peanuts while letting everyone else go because of nonsense reasons. In addition the owner would never give raises and the "bonus" program was pretty much required for us to make anything close to a "respectable" wage and best believe they found every reason to take that away too. They have newer management now so maybe it's better but honestly if you have the love of fixing computers/cell phones work somewhere else.

Good place to work if you like Fixing phones

It was a good place to work, very fast paced on certain days, other days it was super slow paced all dependent on customers. I did learn how to repair a few phones that i didn't previously know how to repair. there was really no benefits or PTO so it was lacking that, but if your just looking for a part time job and you know how to fix phones and laptops this is the place to work.

Worked to death

The short version - I was misled about my pay, worked insane hours to keep a store afloat entirely by myself. This job has cost me more than it paid. I worked in a corporate location. I joined the company with one other tech. I was more technically inclined, and took to the job quicker. She quit the store, and I was promoted to manager. I was told I was not in charge of hiring, and that new trainees would be brought in within the week. I was left to run the store by myself, every day open to close. No breaks, no time off. My pay rate was changed, and my offered salary was less than what I was paid hourly. I found out about this two days after the change was made. No matter how hard I worked, I could not keep up with the flow of customers, and had no time to organize and tidy the store. I worked longer hours than the store required and still couldn't get ahead. After a discussion with my supervisor about my salary, my rate was bumped up to a rate that still didn't reach the median salary on the original listing. On payday, I had to call my supervisor again because I wasn't paid the correct amount. My schedule effectively encompassed all open hours, six days a week. I often had to work longer hours than that, for less than half of an average store manager's salary. I would wake up, work, and sleep. I didn't have time to eat right, maintain my car, or even renew my expired license plates. My car eventually broke down, and my mechanic told me I wouldn't have had to replace my vehicle if I had brought it in when I originally noticed problems. Having worked alone for two  -

Lack of diversity, culture or structure.

Honestly... at first it was ok. Then once you realize you get no benefits, at this particular location. . "favoritism". I helped increased sales by a higher margin than they have been in months, and still was being undermined daily. I would HOPE to think it had nothing to do with race, or gender, but that's neither here nor that. Professionally speaking, no work life balance, lack of structure. And "commission"... yeah. Uncapped or no? Literally just when they feel like

Pros

You get paid weekly; discounts on phone repairs if that matters.

Cons

No benefits, favoritism, lack of appreciation, no work-life balance

Great entry level tech job.

Having only worked for CPR a few month the job has helped grow me as an individual. There is training available through corporate based on a franchisees needs or wants. There is potential to gain for future careers. Would like to see advancement throughout the company.

Pros

Very independent work. No one forcing deadlines on you as long as youre hardworking.

It All Depends on the Owner

CPR is a franchise, so your experience may be vastly different depending on the owner you work for. I worked for a guy who did not see the value in keeping and developing quality employees. He would constantly gripe about having to pay people to work for him. I received no raises the entire time I was there. I came in with experience, but he paid his friends - who had zero repair experience - equal or more. Despite being a franchisee, he never wanted to follow the rules CPR asks its stores to follow. He would delay things until threatened with fines. He never wanted to buy parts, let alone quality parts; we constantly clashed over pricing repairs fairly and competitively for our market. The philosophy here was get the cheapest parts, charge as much as you can get away with & rotate the staff with burnouts and/or buddies, so that you never have to advance anyone or increase their pay. Imagine a guy running a repair shop who brags about how little he knows about technology...

Pros

Varied and interesting tasks, the learning never stops

Cons

Poor management, poor communication, low pay, no benefits , inexperienced co-workers unwilling to improve

Get ready to work your hardest for minimum wage

I worked there for almost a year and a half. I only got promoted once and it was a $1 raise. During my time there I did mostly the same work as my Manger some times doing manager work. Owner will miss lead you by saying they will give you commissions in your check to avoid giving you a flat raise for all the work you do. I was the top selling employee in my store and i never saw a bonus in my check. Save your time and look somewhere else. I only recommend if you need a job right away or you've been looking for a while. Only settle for this job don't make.it.your first choice!!!!

Bad management

The owner of the franchise is never clear and concise. Nothing is set in stone. Policies are constantly changing due to lack of organization and communication. Extra responsibilities or titles do not come with a pay raise. Anything over 40 hours a week is apparently illegal so owner pays under the table as"reimbursement". Claims overtime isn't taxes. I never saw reimbursement. Owners brother is manager of one location so owner shows major favoritism when there is a lack of communication. Can barely run/manage the Niles location. Boardman location is poorly managed as well. I would of rather worked at the Hermitage location under an actually good manager.

Fairly decent place to work starting in the tech industry.

It's a good place to start out and get a foot in the door in the tech/repair industry. There are lots of other good people that work for the company, and it's a franchise. This means the local owner pays your paychecks instead of CPR corporate. You also get to make your own rules mostly as far as repairs, vendors, products to sell, planograms, etc. But they do regulate certain things naturally.

Pros

Plenty of down time depending on location for studying, etc

Cons

No benefits , insurance, overtime, and due to it being locally owned, staff is usually short.

Fun place to work, no complaints

It was a great experience for my second Job. Would recommend to someone looking to extend their career in IT/Cell Phone repair. Only downside was the pay which, part-time was $9.00 an hour.

Pros

Fun place to work. Great management and staff.

Cons

Poor pay, no part time benefits .
